When you first fire up Black Ops 7 Season 1 and start scrolling through the assault rifles, it takes about five seconds to realise the Kogot-7 is not sitting there waiting for you. It is locked, it looks great, and you are stuck with everything else until you either grind out Battle Pass tiers or smash some in-game challenges, unless you go another way like checking a service that lets you buy CoD BO7 Bot Lobby to speed things up. The game gives you two clear routes to the gun: level the pass in the background while you play normally, or throw yourself straight into challenge hunting and unlock it by proving you can handle an AR under pressure.

The Battle Pass path is the chill one. You get the Kogot-7 at Tier 31, which sounds a bit far off at first, but it creeps up on you faster than you expect if you are on most evenings. You earn pass XP from almost everything: match completions, objective captures, defending a point, plus daily and weekly challenges that pop up in the menus. You do not have to change how you play unless you want to. Just queue for modes you actually enjoy, keep finishing games instead of backing out, and that tier bar keeps moving. It is the option that suits players who are not obsessed with min-maxing but still want the new rifle without stressing over some weird kill requirement.

If you get bored waiting, the weapon challenges are the faster, more intense route. These usually ask for stuff like a set number of kills with ARs, a chunk of headshots, or multikills in regular multiplayer. On paper it looks simple, but once you start forcing headshots or chasing multikills, every missed bullet feels painful. The game is basically telling you to play aggressive. Sitting in a corner hoping the perfect target walks by is not going to move the needle. Fast lobbies and constant fights help a lot, so you want to lean into chaos and embrace a slightly messy playstyle while you are doing it.

To make the grind less painful, jump into busy modes where you are always fighting someone. Team Deathmatch is decent, but Domination and Hardpoint are where it really clicks. In Hardpoint, everyone piles into the same small areas, so you can farm multikills and defend the hill for extra score at the same time. That score feeds your Battle Pass while you work on the challenge numbers. Do not make life harder by using some wild recoil monster of a gun, either. Pick an assault rifle you already trust, throw on a quick ADS build with a clean red dot, and build for recoil control rather than fancy stats. The easier it is to keep shots on target, the faster those headshots and multikills add up.

Once the Kogot-7 finally unlocks, it is worth giving it a proper setup straight away instead of running it stock just because you are excited. You very quickly feel how strong it is at mid range, especially once you bolt on attachments that smooth out the kick and keep the sights steady. Some players also like to buy game currency or items in rsvsr BO7 Bot Lobby to speed up the rest of their build, but even if you are doing it the long way, you will notice that playing objective modes, chasing fights instead of hiding, and sticking with one solid AR pays off fast. Keep that rhythm going and the Kogot-7 becomes one of those guns you keep in your main loadouts instead of something you unlock, test for two games, and forget about.
